Fast, repeatable right-adrenal finds: start at RK, fan dorsally, track CVC/aorta split, align long axis, confirm dorsal to CVC

Identify kidney, fan probe for symmetry, measure maximal length, rotate 90° for transverse, and find the renal pelvis’ anechoic V.

Start with a longitudinal view of the left kidney, fan medially, identify the celiac and cranial mesenteric arteries, left renal vein, and phrenicoabdominal vein — then use Doppler to confirm vessel identity.

Right lateral → find the stomach → follow ventrally → spot the pylorus just before the duodenum.

TIP: Often sits caudal to the gallbladder!

Intercostal: Probe at 9th–10th rib space → follow the duodenum ventrally and caudally.
Subcostal: Apply pressure to locate the pylorus (harder in large or gassy dogs).

Subcostal: Probe right paramedian → trace from gallbladder neck to cystic duct and CBD.
Follow: CBD runs ventral and parallel to the portal vein — confirm with Doppler.
