What to Expect During Your Pet’s Ultrasound
At VAIS, your pet’s comfort always comes first. Ultrasound is a non-invasive and pain free procedure that allows us to look inside your pet’s body safely - without surgery or radiation.

In most cases, your pet can be scanned while awake, gently positioned by your veterinary team. Sometimes, a light sedation may be recommended to help them relax and ensure we obtain the clearest possible images —particularly if they are anxious or uncomfortable.
To achieve the best quality results, we may need to clip a small patch of fur over the area being scanned. This allows the ultrasound probe to make full contact with the skin, ensuring an accurate image and a faster, smoother experience for your pet.
